Room 3's Harcourt: Trophies Web Page

Each week we will read one story from the Harcourt: Trophies Grade 1 basal readers.  The stories and weeks are listed below under each Theme. If you click on the Theme, your child can play the Theme Center Activity associated with that Theme.  Please click on the story title to access the accompanying resources for that story which include:

• Words to Remember: High-Frequency Words (HFW)
• HFW PowerPoint: This is NOT timed and has JUST the words from that story/week.
• HFW 2-Second PowerPoint: This has the words from the story and it will also revisit the HFW from the week before. Each word will be displayed for approximately two seconds before moving onto the next word.
• Focus Skill/Strategy: This is the reading focus for the week (such as Main Idea, Sequencing, Details, etc.)
• Graphic Organizer: This is a PDF version of our graphic organizer for the week. This is how students will learn about the story and apply the focus skill/strategy to create meaning from the story.
• Internet Links: Harcourt: Trophies Grade 1 links to additional support for each story.
• Additional Internet Resources: Other websites that offer information about the content of the story.  NOTE: This may or may not be provided depending upon the story.
